The Wheatley Chronicles – Volume III, No. 79
Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (September 21, 2015) – Heading into the closing stages of the 2015 season, Darren Hagen continues to hold the top spot in the latest release of the www.midgetmadness.com Midget Power Rankings.
Running a full Midget slate, the Riverside, CA, driver holds the top spot over a host of Keith Kunz Racing competitors that are running a mix of events that includes a healthy dose of Midget action.
With a handful of wins, Hagen has also racked up a Midget-best 23 top-fives and 29 top-tens thus far in 2015 to hold a 46 point edge over Minden, Nevada’s Tanner Thorson, who swept through Tri-City Speedway’s recent Gold Crown Nationals in Pontoon Beach, IL.
Christopher Bell, Spencer Bayston and Rico Abreu round out the current top five. Abreu leads the way in the win charts with eight triumphs with Bell next on the list with seven.
Ryan Bernal and Ronnie Gardner both strung together strong Cali Speedweek performances to move into the top 25 with Tony Rossi and Dave Darland also breaking into the upper half of the top 50.
