Sosebee Takes All-Star Midget Season Finale

By Ray Cunningham

After a wild night of racing at the Weld Memorial Friday night, Casey Shuman, and Mike Sosebee were the winners in open wheel competition at Grain Vallley. In non wing sprints Arizona’s Casey Shuman was victorious yet again in the Hockett #75 after winning a WAR show there earlier this summer. Shuman survived yellow flags, including one that involved him when he collided with a car trying to get off the track existing turn one. And later a red flag involving Nathan Ryun who crashed coming out of two. At the line, Shuman who led from the start would finish first ahead of Chad Goff, Cody Baker, Chris Parkinson, and Chad Tye.

In the Allstar Midget feature Lenexa, Ks. racer Mike Sosebee would take his first ever victory in the series after beating Clinton Boyles in a photo finish. Sosebee driving his own #50 would become the sixth different driver in six races to win in Allstar competition at Valley this season. Wesley Smith looking for his fifth victory in 2015 experienced mechanical woes while leading the twenty lap feature in the ladder stages. This opened the door for Sosebee, and a fast closing Boyles. On the last lap the Greenwood, Mo. racer drag raced with Sosebee to the finish line falling short by the smallest of margins. Pat Schudy would come home a strong third, followed by Riley Kreisel, and Merril Lamb. In other action, the E Mod feature went to Nick Little, and the Show-Me Vintage feature to John Steenstry.
