McIntosh & Kofoid Neck-And-Neck in Midget Power Rankings
Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (August 5, 2020) – The battle for the top rung on the www.midgetmadness.com Midget Power Rankings can’t get much closer as Keith Kunz Racing teammates Buddy Kofoid and Cannon McIntosh are deadlocked in points going into this week’s USAC Eastern Midget Week.
Both drivers have notched four wins and 21 top-tens on the season, amassing 381 points each going into Wednesday night’s USAC tilt at Kutztown, Pennsylvania’s Action Track USA before moving on to Bridgeport, Path Valley and Lanco over the next three nights.
McIntosh lays claim to the number one ranking for the moment on the strength of 16 overall top-fives while Kofoid sits at 14 top-fives.
Cali shoe Kofoid and Oklahoma’s McIntosh hold a 54-point Midget Power Rankings edge over current USAC points leader Chris Windom with Tanner Thorson just another nine points back in fourth and Tyler Courtney rounding out the top five after a pair of wins during the recent Mid-America Midget Week.
A winner in six of eight Midget starts this season, Kyle Larson is sixth with others among the current top ten including Logan Seavey, Daison Pursley, Jake Neuman and Tanner Carrick.
