McIntosh Back on Track for Tuesday Night Thunder & Valley Double

Lonnie Wheatley, BIXBY, Okla. (July 10, 2018) – After a couple of idle weekends, Cannon McIntosh and the RL Hudson/Toyota-TRD No. 08 Midget team are set to get back into action.

The 15-year-old will make his USAC National Midget debut in the “Tuesday Night Thunder” event at Meeker, Oklahoma’s Red Dirt Raceway that kicks off Mid-America Midget Week.  From there, the team will tackle the POWRi National Midget League double at Grain Valley, Missouri’s Valley Speedway on Friday and Saturday.

“It’s time to get strapped back in, I’m looking forward to it,” McIntosh says.  “We have had good speed, we just have to finish some races.”

Mixing in several winged 360-ci Sprint Car starts along the way, McIntosh currently sits fifth in POWRi West Midget points despite missing several events.

The young shoe has posted three top-five finishes along the way, including a season-best third-place run at Valley Speedway against the POWRi National ranks on May 4.  He has also flashed some dazzling speed atop the ¼-mile Red Dirt Raceway in a pair of POWRi West Midget League appearances.

He’ll look to use that experience to his advantage as he takes on the USAC forces on Tuesday and then the POWRi ranks on Friday and Saturday.

Along with RL Hudson and Toyota-TRD, other marketing partners making the ambitious 2018 slate of events possible includes American Discount, Complete Auto Care, Best Graphics, Fieldhouse Gear, Precision Inspection, Sanders and Associates, Panels by Smoke, Walker Performance, Sanders Wheels, American Discount Brake and Muffler, D&N Fabrication and Car and Fleet.

2018 Quick Stats:  18 races, 4 top-fives, 8 top-tens.

Up Next: USAC Midgets on Tuesday night (July 10) at Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, OK, and then POWRi Midgets at Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, MO, on Friday and Saturday.
