Kaylee Bryson Charges to Career Best Midget Finish – Takes on POWRi Micros this Weekend!

Lonnie Wheatley, MUSKOGEE, Okla. (May 17, 2019) – Kaylee Bryson raced to her first career top-five finish in Midget competition by rallying from 16th to fourth aboard the Dave Mac Motorsports No. 11b Toyota-TRD entry in Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget League competition at Belleville, Illinois’ Belle-Clair Speedway last Friday night.

It was a rebound from a wild ride after a parts failure the previous weekend at Wheatland, Missouri’s Lucas Oil Speedway.

“It was one of the best runs we’ve had so far,” the 18-year-old from Muskogee said of the Belle-Clair charge through the field.

With the POWRi National Midgets idle this weekend, Bryson will spend the weekend in POWRi Outlaw Micro Sprint competition at Belle-Clair Speedway on Friday and then Marion’s Southern Illinois Raceway on Saturday.

Bryson is currently ranked third in POWRi Outlaw Micro Sprint Car points with one series win to her credit already.

Bryson kicked off last Friday’s Midget tilt at Belle-Clair Speedway with a third-place heat race finish that 16th in the feature starting grid.  And from there, she worked her way forward to a career-best fourth-place finish in just her eighth Midget start.

“The track was pretty rough so I was just running the bottom,” Bryson explains.  “I was able to hit my marks every lap and slide by everyone.”

Bryson looks to carry that success over to this weekend’s Micro Sprint competition before shifting back to Midgets for a set of events in Missouri next weekend.

Along with Toyota-TRD, other marketing partners making the 2019 slate of events for Bryson possible includes Sanders and Associates, Car and Fleet, Mobil 1, Speedway Engine Development, Best Graphics, Fieldhouse Gear, Precision Inspection, Panels by Smoke, Walker Performance, Sanders Wheels, American Discount Brake and Muffler, D&N Fabrication, Darling Ingredients, PJ’s and Hinds Family.
