Something has to give with this weekend. Usac sprints only had 16 at eagle last night. 16 cars at Belleville. Sprints at Knoxville. Something has to be worked out. Take Knoxville and usac sprints and you could have a good field. If you are decent at Belleville it's a better chance to win a lot of money. Coons should be the favorite. That being said Kuhn, Hagen, Abreu, and Armstrong all have a great shot. I thought Stratton was running a Lewis car?
I am thinking the more indystar talks, the more it makes sense. I have heard the same stuff but brushed it off. Usac has a part in this . I have said it before, make nice with usac and you can get 35 cars again. You screwed with them and they are officially killing Belleville's show with the 360 nationals. Oh but no one liked usac! I think that was an excuse from the board. Great, I paid 37 bucks to watch 14 midgets run on the big track. By the a main Saturday, there will be 8-10 cars left. Awful. Did anyone see a program? I thought 24 cars had "officially" signed up. We have gone from "will tony Stewart show up" in the past to " will 10 more cars show up" to field a decent show.
I have tried to stay optimistic about this but 14 cars tonight? I am hoping since there are 27 cars in the program according to Brian that the rest will show up tomorrow. If not, it will be embarrassing to sit in the stands and watch 10-12 cars start the feature at Belleville. It would truly be a sad day for a wonderful dirt track tradition. Almost breaks your heart. Can someone confirm if more are coming? I am not driving hundreds of miles to see 14 cars. Thanks.
