SMART BRIGHT SECURES THE WIN!
SSS PR

In a race meeting tarnished with rain, Round 2 of the POWRi Australian Speedcar Super Series has been run and won with USA’s Alex Bright capturing A main glory at Charlton Raceway, Queensland!

Brendan Palmer jumped to the early lead, before the first of three stoppages reset the race. Sadly, with nowhere to go, Simon Roberts, Adam Wallis and Andrew Felker were all left standing on the infield, disappointed in the opening laps.

Michael Kendall gained the lead when the lights went back to green, where he held a dominating position until a stoppage with 5 laps to go! This placed the 21 year old American right on his tail tank!

Having started from position 6th in the 30 lap feature; and after battling on track with contracted racers Mark Brown, Troy Jenkins, Nathan Smee and his Jack Berry Racing/Polar Ice team mate Brendan Palmer, it was a swooping move on the high line which saw Bright secure the lead on the final lap of the race!

New Zealand’s Michael Kendall finished in second, with New South Welshman Nathan Smee in third!

Thanks to Ash Media Australia, feature footage can be viewed online:

CHASING CHAFFEY AT CHARLTON!
SSS PR

Get trackside; the 2012-2013 POWRi Australian Speedcar Super Series is heading back to Queensland for round two this weekend at Toowoomba’s Charlton Raceway!

After a dazzling performance at the opening round, Queensland’s Anthony Chaffey leads the charge with 1080 championship points; a 338 point lead over his nearest rival! New South Welshman Nathan Smee sits in second place on 742 points, while Brendan Palmer, also from Queensland, rounds out the top three on 523.

"Queenslanders have come out in force over the last few seasons and it was fantastic to see Anthony on the podium at the BIS opening round," said the SSS Director, “once again, I can’t pick a winner at Charlton Raceway, the competition is too intense, but I can guarantee one thing, whoever wins this show will certainly have earned their place on the podium!”

As the elbow up action nears, chasing Chaffey is on everyone’s mind with an abundant list of talented drivers determined to fight their way back into Championship contention!

Add the contingent of local racers, along with New Zealand’s Michael Kendall, and the two hard charging Americans Andrew Felker and Alex Bright and we have one fantastic show!

“A few of our guys were off their game last weekend. That won’t be the case at round 2!” said Ken Jenkins, “We have the top guys racing from around the country; it goes without saying, it’s going to be another close one at Charlton!”

POWRi Australian Speedcar Super Series Championship:
1. Anthony Chaffey (1080) 2. Nathan Smee (742), 3. Brendan Palmer (523), 4. Mark Brown (396), 5. Troy Jenkins (230), 6. Simon Roberts (221), 7. Jason Bell (207), 8. Gavin Wesble (135).
