Jason Allen to Compete for IRS Rookie of the Year

Beyta Gear Service and Bent Wrench Racing are pleased to announce that kart veteran Jason Allen of Sugar Grove Illinois will compete for the Illini Racing Series Rookie of the Year title in 2012. Jason will drive the familiar yellow and black Buzzard-Focus, now carrying #8, in all Illini Racing Series events.

The team's lead driver, Eddie Sauer of Davis Illinois, will compete in the Rockford and Sycamore events driving the yellow and red #6 Ellis we debuted at Rockford last season. Due to IRS rule changes the experimental Honda motor will be replaced with a Ford Focus. Eddie will also be driver coach for Jason Allen, continuing a friendship that dates back many years in the kart ranks.

Jason's father Dale will be crew chief on the #8 team with car owner Chuck Schultz providing weekly maintenance and team management. Karl Alsvig will again be team videographer. Jerry Alsvig will continue as team mechanic and record keeper.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for both cars. Beyta Gear Service, an engineering consulting firm in Winfield Illinois, Chris Alston's Chassis Works of California, a supplier of drag racing and street rod components, and RWA & Associates, a computer software vendor, have signed on so far. Visit with us at this weekend's Circle Track Expo at the DuPage Expo Center in St. Charles [North Ave. Hwy 64 opposite Pheasant Run Resort]. We'll be at the Illini Racing Series booth.

Thanks for your interest!
