Here are the 2010 600 rules for Ft. Wayne The language here is based on last years extensive conversations. They are mostly the same rules with limited modification for increased clarity.

Last years event was successful in bringing the 600s in line with fair, simple rules that were enforced by Keith Ousley, and officials from Miami County Speedway. These rules build on what we started last year.

1. 10” Dirt tires only, front rim and tire minimum 6”, maximum 8”. Rear tire must be 10” dirt, any combination allowed.

2. Maximum tread width of 63" outside to outside front and rear.

3. Minimum weight with driver of 750 lbs.

4.Added weight must be bolted on and inside the main frame rails of the chassis, not on nerf bars. Aluminum will be allowed on the nerf bars for advertising purposes, (.040 maximum).

5. Minimum wheel base of 50" max of 70" center of axle to center of axle.

6. Front bumpers must NOT stick out past main frame rails.

7. No cockpit adjusters of any kind.

8. Diapers, mufflers and radiator catch cans are mandatory

9. Radiators must be inside the confines of the chassis.

10. Mandatory straight, solid tubular axles, front and rear. No independent suspensions.

11. Only one sway bar, either front or rear.

12. Only a left front brake and rear brakes allowed, maximum of two rotors and two calipers on car.

13. Top wing must be 9 ½ square foot minimum, no maximum as long as it does not extend beyond the tread width. Side board minimum heights, 20" left side, 18" right side and must stick out past the center section.

14. Nothing may stick out beyond the outside edge of the rear tires. A straight edge will be used to check for compliance, it will be placed across the outside edge of tire both vertically and horizontally, if anything hits the straight edge, it is illegal. This will be done on both sides of the car.

15. Max of 640 CC engines only

16. Power steering is prohibited.

17.Fuel additives are prohibited, and their use may result in disqualification.

18. Tire soaking and the spraying of substances on tires is prohibited and may result in disqualification

We look forward to the event that will be held on Friday, Dec. 31, and Saturday, January 1. Those dates are the only dates that are available at the Coliseum Expo Center this winter. I have decided to go with them rather than a mid week date in order to maximize teams and fans travel time. Look for detailed entries and schedules as soon as possible. The schedule will be rearranged with the thought of making it more effient and condensing the amount of time that teams and fans need to spend in the pits and stands to view the portion of the show they want to see.

NOTE: The minimum weight with driver in the car has been changed to 750 lbs. as it was last year.

One item about fuel...NO ADDITIVES- There is an outside possibility we may mandate that fuel be purchased at the event. The reason?...The additives in teams have been using in the fuel have been causing excess smoke. It was much better last year after we included the rule. This was missing from my original posting.

We are going to make up an official entry and rules file as soon as we have time.

Thanks for your interest.

Keeping it simple seems to be the key as far as rules are concerned.

No transponders nor one-way radios required
No windscreen required
No limits on offsets of running gear front and rear except outside to outside of tires being 63 inches. You still have to be able to turn right, so that would be the limiting factor.
Only engine rule is limiting displacement to 640cc maximum.
Tire rules are simple too like you have to run the tire you ran in qualifying and the limit on thread width is 10 inches. Obviously if you go too soft you will burn up your tire! Old hard tires might work extremely well.

I would like to add "no additives of any kind including top lube" to minimize indoor polution too!
