Axle measurements?

01 June 2015 - 07:00 PM

Does anybody know what the 44-1, 44-3 & 51-2 measurements mean? Ditto the 52-1 Sprint axle! I have run a tape all over a 44-3 Midget & a 52-1 Sprint & can't figure it out. I am hoping a 51-2 Midget & 52-1 Sprint are in the same ball park width wise. I plan on ordering a NEW Midget QC with a 51-2 axle from Winters & they couldn't/wouldn't tell me basic dimensions though their website has the 44-1 & 44-3 data.

I'm trying to get some weight out of a New Zealand 1/4 mile dirt Super Saloon running a supercharged 13B Mazda on methanol to try & beat all the other 700 odd hp V8's. Our Super saloons are similar to USA LateModels but with open tube Sprint QC's, #1 sparkplug on axle CL & a kilogram per cubic inch rule. Most run rear radiators & mid-mounted Bert/Brinn gearboxes & 104x17 RR with no tire durometer rule. Hence ditching the 10 spline Sprint QC for a Midget QC using 84x13" tires LF, RF & LR with 94 ish 15"RR with steel wheels.
