Evel Knievel dead at 69

30 November 2007 - 09:40 PM

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) Evel Knievel, the hard-living motorcycle daredevil whose exploits made him an international icon in the 1970s, died Friday. He was 69.

Knievel's death was confirmed by his granddaughter, Krysten Knievel. He had been in failing health for years, suffering from diabetes and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, an incurable condition that scarred his lungs.

Knievel had undergone a liver transplant in 1999 after nearly dying of hepatitis C, likely contracted through a blood transfusion after one of his bone-shattering spills

Things Id like to see happen in midget racing down the road

Things Id like to see happen in midget racing down the road:

Gary "Bubba" Altig to land a funded USAC ride

Brad Kuhn to win a USAC Midget championship because he is due. He has won Badger and POWRi Championships. I think it's only fitting that he adds a USAC Title to his resume.

Scott Hatton back in victory lane

Oklahoma's Brady Bacon to get his Crown Jewel, the "Chili Bowl" in front of his home crowd.

Would like to see Badger drivers and their series travel more out of the state of Wisconsin.

A USAC National midget victory in 2008 for Brad Loyet. Hes due!.

Josh Wise to succeed in stock cars following a stellar open-wheel career in midgets, but still come back like Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne and field an open wheel team.

An agreement between all Midget sanctions to run more of the Big midget events (not only Knoxville).

The USAC Western States to rebound and get back to the higher car counts

Kevin Olson back in Victory lane, wouldn't that be a fun night !

Australian driver Matt Smith to pick up a midget victory over here in the states

ESPN to bring back "Thursday Night Thunder" racing from some of the better dirt and pavement tracks in the Country.

There are alot of young midget drivers 18 years and younger so I was wondering who you all would rank as the best young driver ?

Tony's Nascar Team going to Toyota

07 August 2007 - 11:34 AM

Hearing the decision has been made and that Joe Gibbs Racing [#11, #18, #20] will switch from Chevrolet to Toyota in 2008 and the announcement should come in early September. What affect might this have on Tony Stewart's Chevy Open Wheel Team ?
