Procon pump questions

We're trying to fire up our winter project & have fitted a seemingly unused Procon pump like used on the SESCO motors of yore. Do they need modification from "stock" to work in this application? The car is ready to fire up [oil pressure, spark, fuel to the pump] but the out flow is very weak.
