Bernal Sweeps USAC Portion of Gold Cup

CHICO, Cal. (September 10, 2015) – Ryan Bernal swept through the Thursday night portion of Silver Dollar Speedway’s “Gold Cup Race of Champions” by winning both the USAC/CRA Sprint Car and USAC Western States Midget feature events.

Wheeling the Phulps No. 56 entry in USAC/CRA Sprint Car action, Bernal led all 30 laps to beat fast qualifier Andy Forsberg, Kevin Thomas, Jr., Austin Liggett and Jake Swanson to the line.

The Hollister, CA, shoe began his sweep by leading the final 17 circuits of the USAC Western States/BCRA Midget feature aboard the Six8 Racing entry. Bernal charged to the Midget feature win ahead of fast timer Shane Golobic, early leader Chase Stockon, Frankie Guerrini and Trey Marcham.
