Bayston Leads the Way in Mid-Season Midget Power Rankings
The Wheatley Chronicles – Volume V, No. 33
Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (June 30, 2017) – With a four-day Holiday weekend of racing action looming, Lafayette, Indiana’s Spencer Bayston sits atop the Mid-Season www.midgetmadness.com Midget Power Rankings.
While “Sunshine” Tyler Courtney moved to the top of the charts after Indiana Midget Week, a trip east to central PA was enough to move Bayston to the top of the list by just ten points over Keith Kunz Racing teammate Tanner Thorson.
Bayston has a pair of wins to his credit including the Indiana Midget Week finale at Kokomo and then a USAC/ARDC tilt at Williams Grove Speedway four nights later that propelled him into the lead.
Finishing atop the Midget Power Rankings in 2016 with 16 wins, Nevada native Thorson sits second with just a pair of wins thus far in 2017.
With four wins to his credit, Courtney is just another 19 points back in third with Zach Daum and Indiana Midget Week champion Shane Golobic rounding out the Mid-Season top five.
The balance of the top ten in Mid-Season Midget Power Rankings includes New Zealand’s Michael Pickens, Justin Grant, Brady Bacon, Ryan Robinson and Rico Abreu.
